Event Rules
Plein Air Event Rules 1.Sign-in: Artists must sign-in on arrival Artwork must be completed on site at the event outdoors. (outside weather permitting) 2.Use of reference photos is permitted, but they must be photos taken on-site at the event. 3.Participants must paint within the area designated by the event organizers. Artists are encouraged to complete 1 to 2 pieces (or more) per day. 4.Prints of the “on-site” work are allowed for sale, but the original must be displayed. 5.Registration for the event is restricted to Adults Only (18+) 6.The PROGRAM will be sent via email upon receipt of Full Registration (copy will be in “take-away bag”) 7.Selection for the Art Awards ends at 3:45 p.m. Saturday. 8.The winner will be announced at 4:00 p.m. All completed art pieces will qualify to participate. The award(s) will be made for the two chosen pieces of art. 9.Completed artwork may be turned in at any time ; between 9:30 a.m. Friday to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday 10. Artist must complete an "Artwork - Detail Sheet" (available at Registration desk) for each art piece 11. Artist are encouraged to provide a Bio, Information card or Business Card with their completed work 12.The “Plein Air Art Festival Committee” will take reasonable precautions to ensure safety of artwork 13. A commission of 30% will be retained by Miramichi Art Core for all art sold at the event. Artwork pricing determined by the artist. Artists will be paid (by cheque) their share of sale(s) within 2 weeks following festival event 14.Artist agrees to hold harmless, the Miramichi Art Core, the Bathurst Art Society and their representatives, and/or exhibition handlers from any liability during the event, hanging process, and or exhibition. 15.Artist is responsible to claim their unsold Art when they leave. “Unclaimed” artwork will be considered abandoned, and Miramichi Art Core will assume ownership. 16.Storage/shipping to return artwork or supplies to artist will not be considered 17.Artists agree to give permission to use photos of artist & artwork on our Face Book Group and our association websites in order to promote the event.
