Sketching:

Sketch Book: This can be almost any type of drawing book. A dollar- store sketch book or a cheap variety from Wal-mart will be fine. It should be about the size of a normal page of paper.
Pencils: You should also have a good drawing pencil. (The softer the better - 2B, 4B or 6B would be good). Also a few sticks of soft vine charcoal. Any artist store would have these.

- a palette (It should be some form of "stay wet" palette. These are available commercially or can be easily constructed)
- a palette knife ( plastic or metal)
- A Spray Bottle of clean water
- a canvas (16"x20") or (18"x24")
(canvas boards are probably the most economical, however a stretched canvas would be better)
- a good soft rubber eraser
- 2 jars or cans with tight lids for water
